Grow your brand on Instagram in your Turkish customers' own language

For many Turkish consumers, Instagram is the first place they discover a new brand, read genuine comments and ask for prices by DM. Yeni İpekyolu prepares Turkish content calendars for Chinese companies operating in Turkey, produces Reels and stories, replies to comments and messages in Turkish, and reaches audiences in Turkey with Meta ads; monthly data and recommendations are reported in Chinese to you and to your head office in China.

01 · Overview

Instagram: the trust showcase Turkish customers check before ordering

01

Why do Turkish customers check Instagram first and buy afterwards?

In Turkey, many people do not decide just by looking at a product page on a marketplace. They usually search for the brand's Instagram account first, checking whether posts are regular, whether the comments include real Turkish customers and whether the brand answers questions. An account with only Chinese or English posts that has gone unanswered for a long time can raise doubts about whether the company really provides after-sales service in Turkey.

That is why Instagram in Turkey is not just a visibility channel but a "trust showcase". Turkish product descriptions, a local address and phone number, return and exchange terms, installment information and links to stores on marketplaces such as Trendyol and Hepsiburada all influence whether a customer places an order. So we start with these trust signals, putting the profile page in order before content and ads.

02

From Ramadan to "Efsane Cuma": a Turkish content calendar

The shopping rhythm in Turkey differs from China's. Gift and travel needs before Ramadan Feast and Eid al-Adha, the back-to-school season, Black Friday in November (often called "Efsane Cuma", or "Legendary Friday", in Turkey) and 11.11, which some marketplaces also run, are key milestones in the content plan. We prepare the content calendar monthly, plan holiday-themed posts, Reels and stories in advance, and flag materials that need prior approval from your head office in China.

In terms of format, Reels generally reach new audiences more easily; stories suit time-limited campaigns and engagement polls, while carousel posts are good for clearly explaining product features and usage. We do not simply translate and post your Chinese promotional visuals; we rewrite the copy to fit Turkish users' aesthetics, humor and way of speaking, and reshoot or re-edit when needed.

03

A DM left unanswered for two days can send a customer to a competitor

Turkish consumers usually ask about price, stock, delivery time and installment options directly by Instagram DM; they also ask questions or complain openly in the comments. When replies come late, are written with machine translation only, or sound harsh, the negative impression is visible to other users too. We take over daily comment and message management in Turkish; we answer frequent questions with reply templates you approve, and translate complex questions and complaints into Chinese, leaving the decision to your team.

Many requests eventually move to WhatsApp or a marketplace store and turn into sales. So that the same customer does not get different answers on different channels, we set handover rules together with your customer service or sales team. Your company decides how to proceed on returns, quality complaints or legal matters; we make sure the Turkish communication is right.

04

Meta ads, catalog and micro-influencers: three checkpoints

First, ads. With Meta Ads Manager you can target users in Turkey by city, age and interests; the same ad usually appears on both Instagram and Facebook. The ad copy and visuals must be in Turkish, and so must the landing page (website, marketplace store or WhatsApp); otherwise users who click are easily lost. You decide the budget; we handle setup, testing and optimization, but we do not promise a specific number of sales or followers.

Second, catalog and shopping features. By connecting your product catalog to Meta, products can be tagged in posts and ads; however, the availability of the feature and which sites can be linked depend on Meta's current policies in Turkey and on the status of your account. Third, collaborations with Turkish micro-influencers: local creators with fewer followers but genuine engagement are often a better fit for a new brand than big names. Influencer advertising content in Turkey usually has to be clearly labeled as advertising; for details, follow the current guidance of the Advertising Board (Reklam Kurulu).

02 · Who it is for

Chinese brands that need Turkish account management

01

Chinese consumer brands newly entering the Turkish market

Brands such as phone accessories, home appliances, cosmetics and apparel want to build a Turkish Instagram account from scratch. We first set up the profile details and trust signals, then plan the first content series. Your head office in China can follow progress through Chinese reports.

02

Sellers with stores on Trendyol and Hepsiburada

Marketplace stores need outside traffic, and Instagram is one of the key places where Turkish customers check a brand's reputation. We direct content and ads to your store link. Content for major campaign periods is prepared in advance.

03

Companies with a store or showroom in Turkey

Experience-driven sectors such as furniture, automotive, electric vehicles and building materials can use Instagram to draw local customers into the store. We run city-based ad targeting and announce in-store events in stories. Inquiries are directed to WhatsApp or a phone appointment.

04

Companies with an account that nobody manages

The account has posts that read like translations, and comments and messages have gone unanswered for a long time. We first run an account audit and show what needs fixing. Then we can take over daily management or just prepare the Turkish copy.

03 · Scope

Profile, Reels, DMs, Meta ads and Chinese reports

01

Account audit and profile setup

We review the bio, story highlights, contact details, links and the language quality of existing posts. Trust information such as a local address, returns and installments is added. Recommendations are listed in Chinese and Turkish.

02

Turkish content calendar

Posts, Reels and stories are planned monthly around Turkey's holidays and shopping seasons. A Chinese explanation is added to each piece of content, making head office approval easier. After approval, everything is published on time.

03

Reels and visual content production

Short videos are edited from the product materials you send, or a shoot is arranged in Turkey. Copy, subtitles and voice-over are in natural Turkish. Existing materials from China are adapted to the habits of the Turkish audience.

04

Comment and DM management

Comments and messages are answered in Turkish, and frequent questions are handled with approved templates. Complaints and complex issues are translated into Chinese and passed to your team. Important inquiries are forwarded to WhatsApp or a sales representative.

05

Meta ads (Instagram + Facebook)

Audience, creative and budget are set up for users in Turkey, then continuously tested and improved. The product catalog can be connected to Meta for shopping tags and dynamic ads. Ad spend is paid directly to Meta and is not included in the service fee.

06

Micro-influencer collaborations and monthly Chinese report

Turkish micro-influencers suited to the brand are selected, and content and ad labeling are coordinated. Each month, data, top-performing content and recommendations for the next month are summarized in Chinese. The report can be sent directly to your head office in China.

05 · Process

Approval in Chinese, publishing in Turkish, monthly review

  1. 1

Getting to know the brand and goals

We discuss your products, target customer, sales channels and head office approval process in Chinese. We review your current account and competitors' Turkish accounts. Then we present the initial roadmap.

  2. 2

Approving the plan and content tone

A Chinese-Turkish plan covering content direction, posting frequency, ad approach and division of tasks is presented. The brand's tone in Turkey is defined; for example, friendly or professional. After approval, the first month's content is prepared.

  3. 3

    Production, approval and publishing

Content is sent for your approval with Chinese explanations and published on schedule after revisions. Comment and message management starts at the same time. Ads go live for testing once the creatives are approved.

06 · FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We have Chinese promotional materials; can't we just translate them into Turkish and post them?

They can be used as a basis, but usually cannot be carried over as is. Exaggerated sales claims, expressions and internet slang common in China can read strangely in Turkey or even be misunderstood. We keep the core message, rewrite the copy in Turkish, and adapt the visuals and music if needed.

Can you guarantee growth in followers or sales?

No, we do not promise a specific number of followers, sales or ad results. Results depend on many factors, such as product, price, competition, budget and the platform's algorithm. Our commitment is professional Turkish content, consistent management and transparent reporting in Chinese.

Does Facebook still work in Turkey?

It depends on your product and target audience. Instagram and Facebook ads are usually managed from the same Meta dashboard, and a single ad can cover both platforms. We decide where the budget fits best based on real data, not impressions.

Is the ad spend paid to you or to Meta?

We generally recommend paying ad spend directly from your company's own Meta ad account; the account belongs to you. Our service fee is calculated separately. This keeps spending transparent, and the account and data always stay with you.

What should we watch out for when working with Turkish influencers?

First, check whether the followers are real and whether the content style fits the brand. Second, influencer ads in Turkey usually have to be clearly labeled as advertising or a collaboration; for details, follow the current guidance of the Advertising Board (Reklam Kurulu). We recommend putting the terms in a written contract and having legal matters reviewed by a Turkish lawyer.

What should we keep in mind when collecting customer data for a campaign?

In Turkey, collecting and using personal data generally falls under KVKK (the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law); sending marketing messages to customers by SMS or email usually also involves İYS (the Message Management System) registration and consent requirements. Giveaway campaigns may also be subject to separate rules. We point out the risks; your lawyer should confirm the exact compliance solution.

Our head office in China doesn't know Turkish; how will it approve the content?

Each piece of Turkish content comes with its Chinese meaning and a creative explanation, for example why this joke or this visual was chosen. Head office sends change requests in Chinese, and we apply them in Turkish. Monthly reports are entirely in Chinese, making internal reporting easier.

Can we just have the Turkish copy written and post it ourselves?

Yes. Some companies already have social media staff in Turkey and only need natural Turkish copy and translation. We can provide copy, reply templates and suggested comment replies per post or monthly; we define the scope together before starting.
